In a 3rd Class I worked on "fire and light". In the search for appropriate use of the computer on the subject, I came across the website http://www.faszinationlicht.de . In addition I have then created a task sheet, which the children should be seen as deepening of the learned them. Working with the Internet and its possibilities for interaction motivated the children very much.

When hand puppets for the media project


in the plant, pupils of a 4th Class of their own hand puppets worked. So they do not disappear only home we wanted to continue the work. The children have written a couple of her dolls dialogues. After yet simple scenes were created, the two groups have shown their story through pictures. The digital images were scanned into the computer and selected the best. The program
Draw StarOffice (which is possible even in PowerPoint), then the children have completed their photos with the dialogues. Dealing with the balloons and the photos was not the biggest challenge, but the story in such a manner that the teacher understood the content ...

Media Education - What is media?

From the school year 2010/2011 in the canton of Solothurn, the specialist media education included in the curriculum. To assist teachers in the area for "reflection and behavior" can I work out because four different workshops on topics related to media education and test pilot classes.
The workshop "What is media?" I have already done with four classes. Those for the 5 / 6 Class has worked well and was handled by the children with plenty of motivation. At one item they had to spend a day without media and write down their experiences. At the beginning some students said that they will make this impossible. During the discussion, they could then report their impressions and it was encouraging that all children have the time, which they now was available had spent with friends outside. Even the children assessed their day without media as very beautiful.
Another item included an interview with an adult person to whom they had to be asked about the use of media in their childhood. Also this proved to be a big aha for the children.
The workshop for 3rd and 4th Class turned out to be something difficult. I will revise it soon and then again to perform with two classes.
My conclusion: media influence the daily lives of children more than I could imagine. The inclusion of these topics into the classroom calls for the children and promotes understanding of the teachers in their current living environment.

I myself was very proud when my little program designated by a random function asterisks in different colors and with different coordinates ... so went the much easier than it was then still with C ++...

have five times after two lessons work today with the lessons we Ani ... Paint project, a 6th Class completed. Here are some thoughts:
  • time frame was a bit short, because the independent elaboration of the program and especially the actor was too time to complete.
  • experience with the program could have been very helpful.
  • stories with very small actions are better. be
  • The incorporation of the actor in the story must be very precise to avoid any confusion.
  • actors can not be painted over.
  • The story failed to note also needs a lot of time.
  • Ani ... Paint stories with actors can not be transferred directly into a web, then there is no longer the path to the actor's right. The story should be filmed via a program on the computer and are then posted on the Internet. I hope that is possible in a next version is a export to a common movie format ...

with a 6th Classes I try to work in an animation class in Ani ... Paint make. Besides the goal, the creativity of students promote, we would let independently explore the program. Except for a statement to the individual tools of the pallet, the children receive only information specific to their questions. The kids had a blast getting to know them in small contracts the program. In a next step, they will then learn about the workings of the actor. The actor is a supplement, which is included in the Pro version and what work can be animated images. In addition I have tried to write a short guide on which the children can then orient. Unfortunately I had to write my instructions state that some features I do not even right ... busy since yesterday I am using the new ICT teaching materials "media compass. Currently, only the band 1 for the primary level (4 -6. Class), that is for secondary school next month, hopefully appear in my mailbox.
My main focus is currently

A teacher of the 1st EC has asked me if I would make with their students in a document with simple plus and minus bills. In addition, they wanted to illustrate this with an image from the Internet. Good writing and motivational events are often hard to find. In a 3rd Class should be solved this problem with a mail-project. The teacher wanted to teach the children how the mail works and it also know the same to another classroom learning. I went in search of a third Class, which has approximately the same number of students. That this class at another corner of Canton is to be searched and then first on the card had contributed much to the tension of the project.
as mail program, I chose the platform http://www.educanet2.ch/ and set up an account for each child. In a first double lesson learned about the children the principle of the mails and the platform. We then shut down the notebook and the children have drawn with a soluble Schreibgspänli her. Then they had the first letter in which they imagined, put on paper. Once this was corrected, they could again sit down at the notebook and write the e-mail. In a next double lesson, the children with a digital camera made portrait pictures and learned this to send as an attachment to her pen pal. Since then, some mails have left the account of the children and as many have been delivered to them. It is also clear that a trip is planned in this community, so that children can learn even more real.

"Why can not I copy images from the Internet?" Or "Why do I write the text itself?", These were questions that concerned the students from the spell of the field. to produce a website means not only fun but also a lot of work. That content from other websites or books not may simply copy, was an important finding for the children. For there is copyright law, which governs clear what is allowed and what not. Therefore, had all the pictures and texts on the web pages themselves are produced.
stood in two fourth grade, the topic of one's own residence, the city Olten, in the annual plan. The goal was to develop the knowledge to their own needs over the city. These two groups were formed, which is assumed the different historical and geographical themes. In a next step, the children were equipped with digital cameras and important buildings and historical sites were photographed. The weather was fine and the children have put the city in the right light. Those children who do not need photos on their subject, have begun to write their texts. In addition, lovely drawings on the various themes have emerged. The children were highly motivated to present their subject as beautiful and interesting as possible.
To technically work as easily as possible, we chose the platform Educanet2. This is a service of the Swiss education server for all public schools in Switzerland. On this platform it is possible, simple websites without much to create technical know-how.

By chance we became aware of the competition "JuniorWebAward" SWITCH. This competition is open to all school classes in Switzerland. The goal is to design a website with the class on a topic. The best sites will be awarded at the end. Who are the winners will be chosen by the audience with their voice. The voices can, 20 March to 7 April 2008 at the following website will be given. In a 3rd Class were the planets in the center Science Education. The children have worked in tandem and the lectures presented in class. To this end they have collected using various media materials. At the end of the topic, the children have now created a short presentation to all the planets. Each planet was portrayed on a new film. The images of the planet, I've been running in the class, children are available. If they needed more information they could ask their classmates or benefit from the existing lists of links to the various planets. They were able to once again repeat their existing knowledge and new to learn. Once the children had grasped the principle of the slide layouts, and adding agents, they were with creating slides very quickly. They could finish their presentations in teams of two in two lessons in part.

following points were found to be greatest difficulties for the students:
  • movements take place which do not occur in the real world really.
  • The digital camera always at the same to keep that position, so the photos always had the same settings and the resulting film blurred.
  • Group dynamics - it was for the children to some very difficult part to an idea. Some groups have a lot of time lost through disputes.
  • We have made two films, was the first to practice and to gain experience and to learn from them for the second movie. The second time through, it was sometimes difficult to motivate the children.

The film, despite these difficulties, results are quite well done and the children are very proud of their own productions.

at the 2nd High School Conference of PH could FHNW I witnessed the presentation of Mrs. Scheunpflug. They talked about the linkage of brain research and education. During the lecture, and now in retrospect to beat (the 8 hours of sleep have worked ...) I try to bridge the ICT. I would like to mention some aspects.
The closure of neural connections affect a variety of factors. One factor is feelings. If a document contains a large amount of news, whether good or bad, this causes a rise in our neural connections. This applies equally to the reward expectancy and the laughter. In contrast, form stress, anxiety and fear will block the formation of new brain networks. Also
Initiative and connections are an important part that the brain creates neural connections. Can children be self-active, even if they're following on from earlier experience, they learn more. For a while frowned upon, but again the research on the rise, the practice. to repeat a learning content in different ways, strengthens the connections in the brain. At this point to mention is that sleep plays according to the latest research results, a central role has been learned in the brain to be anchored properly. The children were very motivated and worked even in their leisure time on their texts and images. The resulting work, I then each of the 2 groups in constructing the home page. Since this site is blocked in our school system, I was looking for a way to download these movies to my computer. On a website I found several descriptions download this movie files.
