"Why can not I copy images from the Internet?" Or "Why do I write the text itself?", These were questions that concerned the students from the spell of the field. to produce a website means not only fun but also a lot of work. That content from other websites or books not may simply copy, was an important finding for the children. For there is copyright law, which governs clear what is allowed and what not. Therefore, had all the pictures and texts on the web pages themselves are produced.
stood in two fourth grade, the topic of one's own residence, the city Olten, in the annual plan. The goal was to develop the knowledge to their own needs over the city. These two groups were formed, which is assumed the different historical and geographical themes. The basis of the search was the home of the city Olten
http://www.olten.ch/ , as well as various books and documents. In a next step, the children were equipped with digital cameras and important buildings and historical sites were photographed. The weather was fine and the children have put the city in the right light. Those children who do not need photos on their subject, have begun to write their texts. In addition, lovely drawings on the various themes have emerged. The children were highly motivated to present their subject as beautiful and interesting as possible.
To technically work as easily as possible, we chose the platform Educanet2. This is a service of the Swiss education server for all public schools in Switzerland. On this platform it is possible, simple websites without much to create technical know-how.
By chance we became aware of the competition "JuniorWebAward" SWITCH. This competition is open to all school classes in Switzerland. The goal is to design a website with the class on a topic. The best sites will be awarded at the end. Who are the winners will be chosen by the audience with their voice. The voices can, 20 March to 7 April 2008 at the following website will be given. We look forward to all the voices for the city Olten, and the bat!
