When hand puppets for the media project


in the plant, pupils of a 4th Class of their own hand puppets worked. So they do not disappear only home we wanted to continue the work. The children have written a couple of her dolls dialogues. After yet simple scenes were created, the two groups have shown their story through pictures. The digital images were scanned into the computer and selected the best. The program
Draw StarOffice (which is possible even in PowerPoint), then the children have completed their photos with the dialogues. Dealing with the balloons and the photos was not the biggest challenge, but the story in such a manner that the teacher understood the content ...

Media Education - What is media?

From the school year 2010/2011 in the canton of Solothurn, the specialist media education included in the curriculum. To assist teachers in the area for "reflection and behavior" can I work out because four different workshops on topics related to media education and test pilot classes.
The workshop "What is media?" I have already done with four classes. Those for the 5 / 6 Class has worked well and was handled by the children with plenty of motivation. At one item they had to spend a day without media and write down their experiences. At the beginning some students said that they will make this impossible. During the discussion, they could then report their impressions and it was encouraging that all children have the time, which they now was available had spent with friends outside. Even the children assessed their day without media as very beautiful.
Another item included an interview with an adult person to whom they had to be asked about the use of media in their childhood. Also this proved to be a big aha for the children.
The workshop for 3rd and 4th Class turned out to be something difficult. I will revise it soon and then again to perform with two classes.
My conclusion: media influence the daily lives of children more than I could imagine. The inclusion of these topics into the classroom calls for the children and promotes understanding of the teachers in their current living environment.
